Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer was left seething by the decision to award PSG a late penalty which saw the spoils shared at the Parc Des Princes.

Tino Livramento was adjudged to have handled the ball from an Ousmane Dembele cross at point blank range, although replays showed the ball hit his chest prior to hitting his arm. Referee Szymon Marciniak was sent to the VAR monitor and awarded the spot kick deep into injury time.

Shearer, like many Newcastle supporters were riled by the decision. The Toon legend shared on X, formerly Twitter: "Do me a f****** favour man. What a load of s***."

Newcastle would have been in pole position to qualify from the group heading into the final game of the group, with Dortmund's win over AC Milan sending them through to the knockout stages of the competition. The Magpies can still qualify from the group with a win over AC Milan, but would need Dortmund to beat PSG next month.

The Toon can also qualify for the Europa League with a win over the Serie A side, which would see them finish in third place, if PSG win in Dortmund. Shearer praised the Magpies at the final whistle, saying the performance should not be overshadowed by a disgusting decision.

Shearer posted on X: "A superb battling away performance from every single player. Shouldn’t be spoilt by a disgusting decision. Well done @NUFC #ChampionsLeague #PARNEW."

The Toon take on AC Milan at St. James' Park on Wednesday, December 13.
