Ant and Dec have 'crushed' I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here fans' hopes of a world famous music megastar ever going into the jungle after their name was thrown into a mix this week.

Over the years, I'm A Celebrity has sprung some real surprises when it's come to A-list stars signing up to rough it Down Under, with one of the most shocking being Caitlyn Jenner, back in 2019. Other famous faces from around the world who've appeared on the ITV programme to date include David Gest, who took part in 2006 and boxing legend Joe Bugner, who stunned everyone by going into the jungle in 2015.

After credits roll on each new episode of I'm A Celebrity, it's become customary for hosts Ant and Dec to take to Instagram for a daily live chat with fans. And, as well as airing their opinions in the comments thread of who their favourites are and what they thought of that night's show, the Geordie duo's followers also use the opportunity to throw some names into the ring on which stars should be contestant.

There have been an eclectic mic of celebs mentioned over the past week but one of the biggest names and, perhaps most unrealistic prospect, is Taylor Swift, as some fans backed the Shake It Off singer to go on. However, not entertaining that idea for a second, Ant went right up to the camera and retorted: "Taylor SwIft's not going to do the show is she?"

While it looks highly unlikely that Taylor Swift will ever do I'm A Celebrity, when it comes to this year's campmates, a new favourite has emerged for jungle victory, with ex Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson now leading the odds on new series champion. Having trailed Josie Gibson for the last few weeks, since the line-up was announced, Sam leapfrogged the This Morning presenter to take pole position on Tuesday.
