As the weekend finally approaches once again we delve back into our archives to take a look at our Bigg Night Out segment.

The popular feature was once a staple in the printed edition of the Chronicle every Friday between 1999 and 2012, featuring photographs of clubbers having a laugh in Newcastle City Centre.

This time, we once again turn the clocks back 20 years and take a looks at some snaps from the heady days of summer 2003.

It was a jampacked year of memories, with Jonny Wilkinson scoring that iconic extra time drop-goal for England to secure the Rugby World Cup against Australia in their own back yard. But the Aussie's got their own back that same year by beating us in The Ashes 4-1.

It was also the year that Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was born and Arsenal beat Southampton 1-0 to secure the FA Cup at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in front of over 70,000 fans.

The term "flash mob" also entered the English dictionary, along with "muffin top" and "man scaping".
