Boots shoppers have been rushing to buy a "fantastic" beauty gift set that offers the chance to try out an iconic skincare brand without paying the premium price tag.

The limited edition Liz Earle Glowing Hydration Routine collection is currently the number one bestseller on the Boots website out of more than 3,000 Christmas gifts. Packaged in a classy box, the gift includes Liz Earle's popular Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Hydrating Cream Mask, Instant Boost Skin Tonic, Eyebright Eye Soothing Lotion and two cotton cloths, making it the perfect luxury present for beauty lovers.

With the gift set priced at £36, these four full-size skincare essentials from Liz Earle are worth a total of £93 when bought separately at full price according to Boots. But is this festive offer as good as it seems?

Well, Boots currently has up to 30% off selected Liz Earle products, which has seen the cleanser reduced from £30 to £22.50, the cream mask from £24 to £18, and the eye lotion from £18 to £13.50, while the skin tonic has also had its price slashed from £18 to £10 in Boots' £10 Tuesday offer, and a two pack of Liz Earle cotton cloths costs £5. This means that even with these special offers in place, the contents of the gift set would still cost a total of £69 if you bought them right now - so shoppers who snap it up are saving nearly half the price compared to purchasing the items separately.

One early reviewer of the gift set awarded it five stars, writing: "This is a fantastic gift set. I bought it for my daughter, but I have been using all these products for many years. It is a fantastic price, so good that I have ordered one for myself."

Elsewhere in Boots' Star Gifts range, shoppers have said they "can't recommend enough" a new gift set from a bestselling brand full of make-up treats hailed as "brilliant" for the festive season. The Benefit Bestseller Showcase Make-up Gift Set is exclusive to Boots and features a collection of beauty must-haves from the premium brand.

Inside the limited edition set is Benefit's full size Badgal Bang Volumizing Mascara and Hoola Matte Bronzer, alongside mini versions of Benetint Rose-Tinted Lip & Cheek Stain, 24-Hour Brow Setter, and The New Porefessional Good Cleanup Foaming Cleanser. The gift set has a price tag of £34.50, but the items inside are worth £88 according to Boots - the mascara alone would set you back £25.50 when bought separately, while the bronzer costs £24 even with 30% off in the Boots sale.

Benefit fans can also find a selection of more Christmas gifts on the brand's website from £17, saving up to half price on make-up collections. Or for shoppers on a budget, Boots' own Extreme Extension Lengthening Mascara has been compared by beauty lovers to Benefit as reported by GlasgowLive - and is currently priced at just £2.

Meanwhile, Liz Earle fans can also save up to 30% on skincare from the premium beauty brand on its website, with its Black Friday offers having been extended. Shoppers can also visit the Liz Earle Outlet to make savings on some bestsellers, with new lines having recently been added including special editions of Cleanse & Polish products.
