Huddersfield Town manager Darren Moore feels he is getting more 'round pegs in round holes' ahead of Wednesday night's Championship clash with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

While Tony Mowbray's Black Cats were losing 2-0 at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, the Terriers picked up a creditable 1-1 draw with promotion contenders Southampton thanks to Ben Jackson's late equaliser. Moore has had to deal with a lengthy injury list, with goalkeeper Lee Nicholls, striker Danny Ward and Ben Wiles missing at the weekend - and Kian Harratt forced off with a suspected hamstring injury.

However, Moore did have some different attacking options to call on with Josh Koroma and David Kasumu both returning to the starting line-up following groin and hamstring injuries of their own, respectively, while Delano Burgzorg appeared from the bench late on after overcoming a knee injury.

“That's why you talk about round pegs in round holes," Moore said. "I think we got that back, maybe having David Kasumu back and Josh Koroma: those players weren’t playing at Hull. Maybe having Dell back in the last bit, he wasn't playing at Hull.

“So maybe when you look at it and you draw breath, you probably think OK, those three players do change the dynamics of the squad – as it will if Ben Wiles comes back, Danny Ward comes back, Lee Nicholls, Jack Rudoni, just to name a few.

“When they all come back, they add to the team and they allow you to add more of a different dimension to the team: you get more options coming off the bench, you've got all those different aspects that you can add to the team.

“But currently where we are now, in terms of what we've got available and what we're dealing with at the moment, I'm really pleased for the players, I have to say. As a result of that I’m pleased for us all at the football club, because to see us all on the same page and get that result, everybody can feel justly rewarded with it.”
