Frankie Dettori is at the centre of an 'airtime' row on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, as fans pleaded with producers to give him more of the limelight, having clocked his apparent 'frustration' in camp. However, while he's being backed by some viewers, others have accused the jockey of being 'too thirsty' for screen time.

Even though his name didn't appear on the confirmed line-up for the new series of the hit ITV show, champion rider Frankie was made one of the immediate favourites to snatch the jungle crown this year, after hew fuelled speculation he'd be going in by flying to Australia,. telling his social media followers he was going there to attend the Melbourne Cup.

Bookies pit Frankie right in the mix for I'm A Celebrity victory, along with other early frontrunners Josie Gibson and Sam Thompson and, despite being absent from the early days of the new series, as his now co-stars headed into camp for the first time, he was still high up in the odds, with his position then strengthening following his late arrival, alongside boxer Tony Bellew.

The two sporting icons were made captains of the Home and Away teams as the camp was split in half but,. after all the airtime in his first few days in the jungle, fans are now arguing that Frankie is not being shown nearly enough, with the man himself appearing to be 'fed up' at not getting to do enough.

Taking aim at ITV bosses and arguing that the likes of Sam and influencer Nella Rose are being given too much of the limelight, one annoyed I'm a Celebrity viewer blasted: "Why do they keep giving airtime to these excitable nobodies like Sam & last year's Owen. They're not at all interesting to viewers & will be forgotten by Christmas. Where is Frankie?" Also frustrated and keen to see more of Frankie, a second took to X to write: "I don't think Frankie is getting much airtime either they are building Sam Tony and Marvin up they get loads of airtime"

However, given that both Frankie and Nigel Farage, who openly admitted that he wanted to be voted for as many trials as possible to be on TV as much as possible, appeared to be upset at not getting to 'do anything,' some viewers argued that was a reason not to give them the opportunity, as one reacted: "Not sure why people are saying vote Nigel & Frankie in because they want to go in.. nah! The more reason not to vote them. They are clearly thirsty for airtime. Not today." Another critic commented: "Maybe Frankie didn’t do or say anything interesting enough to warrant airtime!
