Eddie Howe stayed cool and composed after others lost their head following the draw with PSG at Parc des Princes.

He'd barely had time to process the injustice of an injury time spot-kick which denied him the biggest win of his managerial career against oil-rich Paris. However, as usual, the Newcastle boss reserved his brilliant best as the media fired questions at him in a 15-minute inquest in the bowels of PSG's famous ground.

Here's everything that was said:

Do you feel a sense of injustice after that penalty was given at the end?

Howe: "Yes, I do, it wasn’t the right decision in my opinion. There are so many things to take into account at that moment, the speed first. It was a ricochet that when it is slowed down looks completely different to the live event.

"The ball hits his chest first, comes up and hits his hand. But his hand is not in an unnatural position, they are down by his side but he is a running motion.

"I feel it is a poor decision and it’s hugely frustrating for us as you know how little time there is left in the game. There is nothing we can do about it now."

Given it was not in keeping with the guidance, does that compound things even more?

Howe: "Yes, of course. But I have to control myself, that is my job and it doesn’t do any good to lose control of your emotions when I speak but I’m just devastated for the players.

"The way they performed in very difficult circumstances and what that decision does to the group. "Our destiny is not in our own hands now and that is tough to take after being in that position."

How are the players?

Howe: "Naturally frustrated, emotional. It will take a little bit of time for the emotions to turn to a positive, which I think it has to for what we've given, not just today, but for a huge length of time.

"For me, the players have been absolutely outstanding and I think they're a great representation of the club at the moment with what they're giving.

"I think we've gone to some very tough grounds in Europe, some very tough grounds in the Premier League and they've always tried to deliver the right product for the club."

How do you get over that?

Howe: "I think we have to look that we're still in the competition. The first thing to do is look a that because it could have been different tonight, so that game now is going to take on huge significance for lots of different reasons.

"We're back at home and we're excited about the game when it comes around, so they're huge positives for us, so that's why I don't think we should lose sight of that despite the disappointing ending."

What can you say about Tino Livramento?

Howe: "I don't think it's a reflection on him, the fact the penalty has happened against him. It's just one of those things.

"I thought Tino Livramento was brilliant tonight, defensively especially. Up against a very good opponent, I thought he handled himself really well. He was dogged, he stuck to his task, he defended in partnerships really well, and of course, played the crucial role in the goal.

"He's such a talented player, I do believe he can play on both sides of the pitch and he's done really well in the last two matches on that left-hand side."
