Girls Aloud have added six new dates to their The Show reunion tour following "incredible demand" for tickets in Wednesday's presale - including an additional date in Newcastle.

The epic tour of the UK and Ireland now includes 21 dates between May and June next year, and will see Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts reunite in memory of bandmate Sarah Harding. It will be the first time Girls Aloud have toured in over a decade, with fans sure to be treated to all the hits like Love Machine, Sound of the Underground and The Promise.

Girls Aloud confirmed that new shows had been added to the tour in an Instagram post on Wednesday evening "due to unprecedented demand", adding: "Systems have been reinforced to cope with the extraordinary traffic after this morning - we can't wait to see you all on tour."

A third date for Newcastle's Utilita Arena has now been added to the tour on Sunday, June 2, alongside extra shows in Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham, London and Liverpool. Tickets are available to buy now via Ticketmaster and Ticketek - but fans have been urged to act quickly if they're hoping to secure them, with presale tickets selling fast since going live at 9am on Wednesday morning and several shows already sold out.

While the general ticket sale for all shows on the Girls Aloud tour doesn't open until 9am on Friday, December 1, any fan can access the presale right now by heading over to the Girls Aloud website, selecting which show you would like to buy tickets for, and clicking the 'presale' button. This will lead you to a sign-up page where you will need to enter your email address and hit 'subscribe' - you will then be given a code to unlock presale tickets.

However, as the first presale tickets went on sale via Ticketmaster and Ticketek, fans were quick to share their frustration at the high prices, with some saying they were in "disbelief" at the cost while others described them as "shocking" and "disappointing". For the Newcastle shows, the lowest priced seated tickets available start at £58.95 plus a booking fee, while the highest price goes all the way up to £212.50 for standing tickets at the front - read more about the reaction to the prices here.
