Girls Aloud were forced to announce their reunion tour over 12 hours earlier than planned, after details were 'leaked' by Ticketmaster on Wednesday night.
Over the last week and much to the delight of fans, the members of the Brit Award winning girl group have been teasing that something big was looming, with each of them posting a countdown marker on their Instagram grids, as their followers became more and more convinced that an announcement would be made on Thursday. The final one to post, Cheryl confirmed that theory, informing fans to keep their eyes peeled at 8.30am on November 23 for the news to break.
However, less than an hour after Cheryl posted her '1' on Instagram, fans were made aware that a tour was definitely happening as a page appeared on Ticketmaster entitled 'Girls Aloud Tickets 2023-4. Tour and Concert Dates,' carrying a new image of Cheryl, Kimberley, Nicola and Nadine as well as quotes from each of them on the tour.

That caused a social media frenzy as screen shots were quickly shared and posted by delighted fans and, shortly after, the news was made official by Girls Aloud as a video appeared on the band's official Instagram, as well as all of the girls', of them pulling up in cars before walking towards a big screen showing highlights from their career. The video was followed by a full list of tour dates, with the tour set to kick off in Dublin on May 18. *Tickets go on sale from Ticketmaster on Friday, December 1'*
Fans were left in shock at the Ticketmaster leak and joking that 'someone would be getting fired' for hitting publish early, as one took to X to post: "I'm guessing the #GirlsAloud team have been frantically changing plans and have released their content and updated their socials hastily because we found the ticketmaster link before the big announcement tomorrow." A second reacted: "Loool Girls Aloud didn’t do the countdown to have to release the announcement tonight after people found the dates on Ticketmaster & arena websites"
