Girls Aloud delighted fans by announcing a 2024 reunion tour in memory of Sarah Harding last week - but some have been left "devastated" after the price of the tour tickets was revealed.

Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts will reunite for the epic tour of UK and Ireland in May and June next year, with presale tickets on sale as of Wednesday morning and the general sale to follow later this week. As the band's first tour in more than a decade, it will also be the first time that Girls Aloud will perform together since the loss of bandmate Sarah, who died in September 2021 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The first show will be in Dublin on May 18, with other dates including Belfast, Manchester, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, London and Liverpool. Girls Aloud will play at Newcastle's Utilita Arena on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, with the presale sparking a scramble for tickets which led to huge queues and some disappointed fans.

As the first presale tickets went on sale via Ticketmaster and Ticketek at 9am on Wednesday, fans were quick to share their frustration at the high prices, with some saying they were in "disbelief" at the cost while others described them as "shocking" and "disappointing". For the Newcastle shows, the lowest priced seated tickets available start at £58.95 plus a booking fee, while the highest price goes all the way up to £212.50 for standing tickets at the front.

"Would love to see Girls Aloud but cannot justify those ticket prices maaaaan," one person lamented on X.

Someone else remarked: "Girls Aloud ticket prices are a bit criminal TBH, I love you gals but not THAT much."

A third fan said: "The Girls Aloud ticket prices cannot be real... surely not!"

And another fumed: "Cannot begin to register my devastation at the prices of Girls Aloud tickets. Hardly any of the £100 tickets (a stretch to afford) are anywhere near the front. £60 tickets for the back of the arena? No thanks. Want to see us? £250 a ticket. What a slap in the face."

At the time of writing, Ticketmaster showed that for the Friday May 31 Newcastle date there were just two presale tickets left in the Floor Pit, going at an eye-watering £212.50 each. However, the Saturday date still had more than 50 tickets available in the presale situated around the arena, with prices starting from £58.95 for a seat near the back.

Fans who have been left disappointed by Wednesday's presale will have another chance to get tickets when the general sale goes live on Friday, December 1. If you want to try to grab tickets in the presale before then, you will need to head over to the Girls Aloud website, select which show you would like to buy tickets for, and click the 'presale' button.

This will lead you to a sign-up page where you will need to enter your email address and hit 'subscribe'. You will then be given a code to unlock presale tickets and can follow a link to Ticketmaster or Ticketek to make your selection.
