Grace Dent told her I'm A Celebrity co-stars she was 'heartbroken' at having to leave the show, as they were informed of her departure via a letter sent into camp.
At the end of Sunday night's show, having watched Grace being told by Ant and Dec she was going to face the next Bushtucker Trial, many I'm A Celebrity fans expressed concern for the Masterchef critic, taking to social media to say she looked 'really ill' and withdrawn, with some urging ITV to step in and check on her.
Less than 12 hours later, it was ITV who broke news of Grace leaving I'm A Celebrity, in a statement which read: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."

In the immediate aftermath of Grace's exit, producers were forced to make a hasty change to the latest episode, calling up Danielle Harold to do the Down The Tubes trial with Josie Gibson, after the ex EastEnders actress finished third in Sunday night's viewer vote. Fans saw the duo take on the terrifying challenge in the early part of Monday's show, with Grace's exit then been revealed to them later on as they gathered in camp.
It was Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard who read out the letter penned by Grace, with him reading aloud: "My Dear campmates, I’m so sorry to let you down. I have left the camp for medical reasons. My heart is broken, I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all."

Grace continued: "You’ve held me up and it’s been a pleasure being your friend through this experience. Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life. I love you all. Your friend, Miss Grace Dent.”
Her co-stars were quick to react, as Marvin and Fred both insisted: "She hasn’t let us down!” and Danielle remarked: "Bless her, she did really well."
