A popular Newcastle city centre venue will be transformed into a winter wonderland for the festive season.

Shipping container complex Frate, located just off High Bridge, is turning into an 'Alpine village' called 'Winterland' that promises revellers the ultimate Christmas experience.

Kicking off on Friday, December 1, and running until New Year's Day, the venue will be filled to the brim with stunning decorations and will offer a range of festive food and entertainment.

A new fully covered canopy will shelter partygoers as they enjoy treats from new food vendors offering Yorkshire pudding wraps, Bratwurst hot dogs, pigs in blankets, and Christmas-themed pizzas. Mulled wine, hot chocolate, and Christmas cocktails will also be served.

A line-up of festive entertainment will feature DJ's playing festive tunes and an open-air cinema showing Christmas films day and night throughout December. Booths and tables can also be reserved for Christmas parties, with food and drink packages on offer.

The venue will be open Wednesday to Thursday from 5pm to 12am and Fridays from 5pm to 2am. On Saturday and Sunday it will be open from 12pm to 2am.
