He's just performed to a sold-out crowd at Newcastle's City Hall, and now Geordie star Andrew Cushin is set to embark on a headline tour across North America.

The 23-year-old from Heaton has announced that he will be taking his 'Waiting for the Rain' tour to the US in April 2024 following the success of his debut album of the same name. The record soared straight into the Official Album Charts Top 100, ranking at 69, when it was released in September.

The tour will see Cushin perform 18 shows across America, kicking off in Nashville on April 25. The 'Where's My Family Gone' singer will then headline various venues in cities including Washington, New York, and Chicago, before finishing in Los Angeles on May 22.

The announcement comes after Cushin wowed crowds with a sold-out show at O2 City Hall Newcastle on Saturday, November 4, which capped off Cushin's 'Waiting for the Rain' UK tour. Demand for tickets has led to an extra date being added, with Cushin set to return to the venue on December 16.

Cushin told ChronicleLive it felt "surreal" to be returning to America on his own tour after supporting former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson on the US leg of his 'Faith in the Future' tour during the summer.

"It’s just surreal to be going back out to North America," Cushin said.

"I had an amazing time earlier in the year with Louis so to be going back to play my own shows feels so special. The social media reaction has been great also and people are already talking about going to a few of the shows.

"I can’t wait to take the 'Waiting For The Rain' show to the States. The shows have been so successful and enjoyable across the UK. I have a great team and good people behind me.

"I can’t wait to continue the Waiting For The Rain tour out in North America."
