The final weekend of October will see the North East covered by low cloud along with patchy fog and showers, according to the latest weather forecast.
The Met Office has issued Yellow weather warnings for rain across parts of the UK this weekend to areas of southern England and the east coast of Scotland, with downpours expected to lead to some flooding and transport disruption. No such warning has been issued for the North East, but the region is still expected to endure a wet weekend after taking a battering last week during Storm Babet.
Forecasters predict that spells of rain will sweep the region on Friday evening, followed by a mix of low cloud, mist and patchy fog. Saturday will get off to a dull but dry start for many places, and is set to remain cloudy throughout the day with outbreaks of light rain and a possibility of hill fog.

The Met Office's outlook for Sunday to Tuesday is that this period will be an unsettled one, with showers that could turn heavy interspersed with brighter spells and windy conditions along the coast, while temperatures gradually fall to slightly below average.
