A programme of festive events set to include something for everyone - pets included - has been announced by Stack in Seaburn in the run-up to the party season.

Upcoming events there will include a ‘doggy social' on Christmas Eve giving owners a chance to bring along their four-legged-friends for some festive entertainment of their own. What's more, the pooches are being invited to dress to impress.

The container village at Seaburn, Sunderland, will host its Santa Paws event from noon until 2pm and Santa will be there too so that dogs wearing Christmas costumes - which are optional - can have their photographs taken with him. The festive social has been running at Stack for the past two years and has proved a hit with dog-owners and no doubt their furry friends too.

And Stack, which will be covering its main site with a giant tent over the winter to protect visitors from chilly weather, has plenty on offer for humans too, with party packages available up to Christmas and on New Year’s Eve.

Christmas party nights, with live entertainment, will be run on Fridays and Saturdays throughout December. And from November 26 a special family-friendly party will be hosted every Sunday from 4pm, which will be free for under-18s attending with adults.

For younger ones, a series of Mini Elves Christmas parties will take place from noon on December 3, 10, 17 and 22 with free entry, party games and a disco. Favourite characters will be there too and Santa himself will be making an appearance.

Kevin Walker, entertainment director, at Stack Seaburn, said the Christmas parties cater for the whole community with options for friends, work colleagues, friends and family. Of the latter he said: "It’s a great opportunity to gather the grandparents, teenagers and extended family for an afternoon of live bands and appearances from some familiar Christmas characters – all at a really affordable price."

Some party tickets have sold out but others are available at £15. For information about available packages and the full programme, which includes a Christmas edition of Kroud Karaoke on December 8 and a New Year’s Eve Extravaganza on December 31, with a house band, DJ and another Kroud Karaoke session, see here.
