Strictly Come Dancing fans are predicting this weekend's result to be the 'closest' so far, after the songs and dances for the quarter final Musicals special were confirmed on Tuesday.

There was a bit of an upset in the BBC ballroom in week 10 when consistently high scorers, Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin fell into the bottom two for the first time, despite coring 34 out of 40 for their American Smooth. There was clear shock from the Strictly studio audience when Tess Daly revealed their fate, with the controversy then being added to when head judge Shirley Ballas went against her three colleagues by saying she would have saved eliminated couple Angela and Carlos over Layton and Nikita.

After that unexpected result left viewers declaring that 'everyone at risk,' the stakes are high going into Saturday's crunch quarter final and, with the bookies odds changing all the times, the songs and dances for each couple could make all the difference when it comes to attracting the all important votes from the public.

Musicals Week has given us some stellar routines in the past, including Kelvin Fletcher channelling Gaston for his Beauty and the Beast themed American Smooth in 2019 and Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice's superb Sound of Music number a year earlier. And, on Tuesday afternoon, fans got their first look at what the remaining five couples in Strictly 2023 will be aiming to impress with in just a few days time.

The numbers for this week, while prompting a lot of excitement, have also led to fans being concerned who will go next, with things 'too close to call' now. Replying to Strictly's latest Instagram post, one of the official account's many followers, wrote: "Don’t want anyone to leave now, we need all of these couples in the final!" Equally upset at the prospect of anyone missing out, another wrote: "Can't believe we'll be left with only four couples! This series has gone so quick!"
