While they're best known for their iconic cheese flavour, Wotsits fans were devastated to hear one of its latest editions has been culled completely.

A number of crisp fans were left heartbroken to hear that the Sizzling Steak flavour had been pulled, after noticing that they were no longer being stocked up on supermarket shelves. The flavour had received rave reviews online, with a number of fans explaining how it was their new favourite.

But it appears that the popularity of the product was not enough - with Walkers confirming that they are no longer being manufactured. One curious fan took to X to ask: "Are sizzling steak Wotsits now discontinued as well? Can't find them anywhere anymore."

The Mirror reports that Walkers responded: "Hi Callum, we're sorry but sizzling steak Wotsits are no longer part of our range," to which the crisp lover posted two heartbroken emojis.

One user described the flavour as 'much better than original Wotsits' while another said they were 'full of flavour'. A third meanwhile described them as: "The best flavour Wotsits ever! Can't beat them!"

The move comes as the snack giant chose to breathe life back into two iconic flavours three years ago due to an increased demand. Initially dubbed BBQ Beef, the revamped Wotsits product made a comeback in 2020 under a Sizzling Steak re-branding.

And the namesake was not the only thing that had changed either, with Walkers claiming that both crisps use different types of seasoning. BBQ Beef and Flamin' Hot were both removed in the early 2000s - much to the disappointment of crisp fans across the UK - after Golden Wonder sold the brand to Walkers.

And now it seems as though the fan favourite has disappeared again, but this time for good.
